Degas, il più snob degli impressionisti al quale non appartiene certamente la connotazione di Bohémien, si improvvisa, creando stupore, artista di strada spavaldo, irriverente ed ironico. L'arte è eterna e si rinnova sempre costituendo una delle forme più democratiche del libero pensiero, oltre che una dipendenza della quale, pian piano, ti accorgi di non poter più fare a meno.

Degas, the most snobbish of the impressionists to whom the bohemian connotation certainly does not belong, improvises, creating astonishment, a bold, irriverent and ironic street artist. Art is eternal and is always renewed, constituting one of the most democratic forms of free thought, as well as an addiction that you gradually realize you cannot do without.

Non esitono epoche "più belle" di altre, esistono solo epoche....Ogni generazione presenta meraviglie e fosche tinte. Come abbiamo vissuto il nostro tempo? Ci siamo resi conto di quanto stesse accadendo intorno a noi? Siamo stati spensierati o inseriti -volenti o nolenti- in circuiti devastanti? Creatività, colore, rinascita economico - sociale, figli dei fiori, musica, libertà, ma anche....Kent State University Ohio. La storia è storia. Passato, presente e futuro si intrecciano in un continuo divenire tanto affascinante quanto insidioso.

There are no epochs "more beautiful" than others, there are only epochs... Each generation presents whorls and dark colours. How have we lived our time? Did we notice what was happening around us? Are we carefree or inserted willy-nilly into devastating circuits? Creativity, colour, social economicrevival, hippies, music, freedom, but also Kent State University Ohio. The history is history. Past, present and future intertwine in a continuous becoming as fascinating as insidious.

"Adolescenza" - "Adolescence"

L'adolescenza non è un mistero... periodo di forti emozioni e contraddizioni. Il tentativo di affrancamento dal genitore si associa, inesorabilmente, alla disperata necessità di riceverne continua approvazione, attenzione e conferma del proprio valore. I "NO" bilaterali si sprecano ed il dialogo diventa a tratti incompatibile ed incomprensibile. Si ricerca una propria identità... imprigionati in una dimensione dalla quale si vuole uscire pur essendone ancora fortemente ancorati.

Adolescence is not a mystery... period of strong emotions and contradictions. The attempted release from th parent is inexorably associated with the despeate need to receive continuous approval, attention and confirmtion of one's worth. Bilateral "NO" are wasted and the dialogue becomes incompatible and incomprehensible at times.You look for your own identity... imprisoned in a dimention from which you want to get out while still being strongly anchored.

Il termine ribellione viene, spesso, associato, secondo il sentire comune, alla destabilizzazione, alla maleducazione ed alla violenza. Esiste però anche una sarcrosanta doverosa ribellione alle ingiustizie, alla corruzione, all'arroganza, alle coercizioni ed alla schiavitù intesa nell'accezione più lata del termine. L' enfant terrible diventa così un enfant prodige, una sorta di eroe che leva lo scudo. Quest'opera, in quattro diversi colori forti e decisi, è dedicata a chi "non ci sta" e rompe il silenzio.

The term rebellion often associated, according to the common feeling, with destabilization, rudeness and violence. However, there is also a sacrosanct dutiful rebellion against injustice, corruption, arrogance, coercion and slavery undestood in the broadest sense of term.The enfant terrible thus becomes an enfant prodige, a sort of hero who raises his shield. This work, in four different strong colours, is dedicated to those who "don't like it" and break the silence.

"Impertinente sfida a Magritte" - "Impertinent challenge to Magritte"

Magritte artista sublime e genio innovatore! Mi piace pensare, in modo molto impertinente, che oggi il Maestro ispiratore avrebbe potuto creare questa mia opera attualizzata, per stile, tecnica e materiali, alla massima contemporaneità . L'uomo bello, perfetto ed elegante stereotipo di una società apparentemente impeccabile, globalizzata e salutista che, alla resa dei conti, è solo, di fatto, una surreale utopia.

Magritte sublime artist and innovative genius! I like to think, in a very impertinent way, that today the inspiring Master could have created my work updated, in style, technique and materials, to the maximum contemporary. The perfect handsome and elegant man, stereotyp of an apparently impeccable globalized and healthy society which, in the end, is only a surreal utopia.

"Sfida! Chi è davvero anticonformista?" - "Challange! Who is really nonconformist?"

Assistiamo ormai da tempo ai più variegati tentativi dell'essere umano di rendersi interessante, particolare, carismatico ed unico... con il fine ultimo di risultare "anticonformista".... ma chi lo è davvero? Io ho sempre pensato che il vero anticonformista, nella contemporaneità, sia ormai unicamente colui che agisce in modo esasperatamente conformista. Ad ognuno la propria interpretazione.

For a long time we have been witnessing the most varied attempts by human being to make themselves interesting, particular, charismatic and unique... with the ultimate aim of being "nonconformist"... but is it really? I have always thought that the true nonconformist, in the contemporary world ,is only who acts in an exasperatingly conformist way. To each their own interpretation.

"Beware of fakes"

Diffidare sempre delle scimmie verdi e gialle fluo, delle zebre turchesi e... peggio ancora dei cani in policarbonato. Sguardo attento ed anche un pò truce, massima cautela. Là fuori c'è una giungla!

Always be wary of neon green and yellow monkeys, turquoise zebras and... even worse, polycarbonate dogs. Careful look and even a little grim, maximum attention. Out there is the jungle!

"Quanto tempo ancora?" - "How much longer?"

L'immediato richiamo ad un tema attualissimo: la pandemia mondiale ed il desiderio di uscirne definitivamente.... ma tante sono le situazioni di soffocante disagio che l'essere umano è chiamato a sopportare e dalle quali vorrebbe fuggire.

The immediate reference to a very topical issue: the world pandemic and the desire to get out of it for good... but there are many situations of suffocating discomfort that the human being is called to endure and from which he would like to escape.

"Psiche scopre l'identità di sua suocera..." - "Psyche discovers the identity of her mother-in-law..."

"Double faces"

Quante volte si è chiamati ad abbandonare le proprie facce e ad indossarne finte, posticce e talvolta anche male appiccicate. Io getto la maschera e .... da spettatore osservo, con dissacrante sarcasmo, la sfilata dell'ipocrisia...

How many times we are called to abandon our faces and wear fake, false and sometimes even badly stuck ones. I throw off the mask and... as a spectator I observe, with irriverent sarcasm, the parade of hypocrisy.
